Contingent Worker and Alternative Employment

Sponsored by BLS in February 1995, this supplement collected information on workers in contingent jobs and other alternative employment arrangements. A contingent job is defined as one structured to last only a limited period of time. Other alternative employment arrangements investigated included working for temporary help agencies or as independent contractors or "on call." The first results from this supplement were released in August, 1995.
